Working with UWO/New Website Section
Before I delve into the main discussion of this blog post, i would encourage you after you are done reading, to take a look at the newest portion of the website, “What Londoners Are Saying About Jared” which are quotes from colleagues, friends, and Ward residents about myself and what they believe i can do for London (It can be found below the follow me on Twitter feed). Now, on to the main portion of the blog.
In my platform i discuss the need for the City to make a much stronger effort at retaining the large number of young talented people that leave London every year. Although Fanshawe College does do an excellent job at this, UWO lags behind quite a bit. With September just around the corner though, i am very excited to have UWO back in session as we are going to have some great volunteers from the school helping out on the campaign and getting them involved in London! Nevertheless, some students are in London all year round, including, Masters of Journalism students.
Over the past 2 weeks or so, we had the amazing opportunity to work with Jared Lindzon and his team, all students in the Masters program as they did their summer semester project on our campaign. It was great to be able to work with them and get to see first hand what amazing, young talented people we have here in London. Although this was only one small partnership, it does a great job at showcasing the potential we have here in London with our young people. All we need to do, is to start utilizing it.
