Bio
Jared Zaifman is a lifelong London resident. He completed an Honours B.A. in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, and was very involved in the campus community during his studies. Jared sat on the Student Council, making significant contributions to both the Education Policy Committee and Clubs Policy Committee. Additionally, he actively promoted campus safety, volunteering for ‘Foot Patrol’, Western’s safe walk home service. Furthermore, as an Orientation Week Leader, he did his best to make the campus environment welcoming to first-year-students.
After University, Jared entered the family business, Z Group. The company has been building residential neighbourhoods in London for over 45 years, providing jobs to Londoners and strengthening communities. The company’s commitment to the city goes beyond its business operations, as it regularly contributes to local charities. Contributions include SARI Disabled Riding Institute, Fanshawe College Scholarship Fund, Women’s Community House, and the Children’s Health Foundation.
Jared’s dedication to improving the city also includes his membership on a number of groups that are involved in London communities. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the London Military Family Resource Centre, and sits on the United Way’s Youth in Action Committee. Jared also has experience dealing directly with decisions made at city hall, as he is on the London City Hall Committee of Adjustments.
Jared has the good fortune of being part of a strong family that has supported him whole heartedly in all of his endeavours. He has learned a great deal from his parents, who have acted as great examples of engaged and active citizens who work towards the benefit of their community.
