Ward 14 Issues
Certainly residents of Ward 14 want the entire city of London to thrive, but this does not mean they do not have concerns for the part of the city where they spend most of their time. Below, I outline 5 key issues for the Ward that will build on what the area has already established, each seeking to achieve a re-investment in our community.
Top 5 Ward 14 Issues
Sparking and Fuelling London’s Recovery
- Though the London economy has been reeling in recent years, Ward 14 can be a significant part of the plan that creates jobs. Given the industrial land within the ward, seizing the opportunities that come to this region will be key in driving prosperity for the entire city.
Connecting the Ward as the City Grows
- The prospect of more jobs directly in the ward means that its residential population may expand. As this happens, residents of the Ward must be able to travel the area with ease. This means that bike paths and transit routes will grow with the ward.
Showcasing Community Advantages
- It is important to keep in mind that people will not simply choose to locate in the Ward by default. We must promote the advantages and benefits the area has to offer.
Protecting and Enhancing Community Hallmarks
- While these things occur, we must maintain the unique qualities of the Ward that make it such a terrific place to be. These include protecting the Westminster Ponds, updating the Meadowlilly Bridge region, and moving forward with plans for the Summerside Community Centre.
A ‘Whole of Ward’ Approach
- With parklands, residential communities, industrial space and rural farmland, Ward 14 is one of the most unique areas in London. For ultimate prosperity in the Ward, none of these aspects can be overlooked, and none can be sacrificed at the expense of another.
